How Are Teeth Express Dental Implants Possible?

At the periodontal practice of Dr. Raymond A. Kenzik in Ormond Beach, FL, you can avail yourself of the most up to date solutions to all manner of periodontal problems, including tooth loss. Modern, titanium-root dental implants are the most beneficial tooth restoration option available today.
Their benefits can be summed up as follows:

  1. They attach firmly to the underlying bone and fuse to it, allowing for full functionality.
  2. They closely mimic the look and feel of your natural teeth.
  3. You can care for dental implants just like regular teeth, with normal brushing/flossing.
  4. Implants typically last for decades or even a lifetime.

Traditional Dental Implants
Traditionally, dental implants take several dental procedures and maybe three to six months to be fully installed, capped, and ready to use.

That’s a long process, and if your underlying bone tissue is too thin or weak, you’ll need to get bone grafts first, which adds additional time and expense.

Now, sometimes traditional implants are the only best way to go. Your periodontist will have to examine your mouth to ensure you’re a good candidate for teeth in a day. But if you are, it can make the process of getting dental implants much simpler, less stressful, and much less time-consuming.

The Teeth Express Breakthrough
Can you really get dental implants in a single sitting? In most cases, the answer is a resounding “Yes!”

But what is done differently to make teeth in a day a viable options?

First, the exact brand or type of implant used may differ. This can affect the way the implant root attaches to the bone and the speed at which it can be installed and at which it will heal.

Second, the implants are put in at a special angle in some cases – particularly with back teeth. This helps the implant fuse to the bone faster and heal quicker. It can also sometimes eliminate the need for bone grafts – but that depends on how thin your bony ridge is at the location where an implant needs to go.

Third, an acrylic prosthesis can be used to allow immediate use of implant teeth. And a temporary dental crown can be placed. Of course, you still have to “go easy on” your implants for awhile, and you may need one or more follow visits. But the main work is normally done in 2 to 3 hours per arch.

Fourth, with Teeth Express, if you are getting implant-supported permanent dentures, you only need 4-5 implants per arch instead of the 6 to 8 that are often used with ordinary dental implants.

The success rate of dental implants in general is at 99%, while that of teeth in a day implants is around 98%. Thus, the difference is very slight. And if there is a problem, your periodontist will know how to correct it.

It’s true that Teeth Express is not for everyone. If the condition of your jawbone and periodontal tissue isn’t good enough, “multi-day” implants may be a better choice for you than “single-day” implants. But for many patients, the ability to get new teeth in just one day is a huge breakthrough.
